PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To oversee the smooth and efficient running of the
project consistent with its constitution and code of governance
CORE JOB REQUIREMENTS: THE PROJECT MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
* MANAGEMENT:
* the delivery, management, development and review of the projects
work with children, young people and their families within the
community and wider catchment area as designated by Tusla and DATF.
* budget planning and managing an approved budget for the Project in
line with financial procedures.
* preparation and timely submission to funders of reports on the
work as required. Maintain effective working relationships with
funders.
* identifying funding opportunities to support the work and to
prepare and submit funding proposals in consultation with the Trustees
* ensuring that all financial and administrative records and files
are maintained to a high standard.
* ensuring an up-to-date health and safety statement is accessible
and available and is adhered to and any health and safety concerns are
dealt with effectively and efficiently.
* ensuring that all relevant legislation and statutory guidelines,
employment policies and procedures are kept in line with current
legislation

* STAFFING AND SUPERVISION:
* ensuring that all staff, students and volunteers receive regular
and professional supervision and appraisal.
* ensuring that training needs are identified and addressed to
ensure learning is promoted.
* managing the recruitment process for staff to the service.
* facilitating weekly team meetings where all matters relating to
clients, young people and families are considered

* DELIVERY OF SERVICES:
* ensuring that effective referral, assessment, planning and review
processes are in place to meet the needs of children and families
participating in the service.
* ensuring that quality and best standards are adhered to in all
aspects of the Project?s work.
* Ensuring familiarity with the National Drug Policy in support of
the Projects work on substance use
* maintaining appropriate relationships with external agencies in
order to maximise funding and ensure that the needs of children and
families are met in an integrated and co-ordinated manner.
* ensuring programmes are planned, delivered and evaluated in
response to the needs of children and families attending the Project.
* identifying needs of children and families attending the service
that are not being met and to advocate at an individual, service and
organisational level for them to be met.
* ensuring that regular contact is maintained with referrers and
other relevant agencies to ensure an integrated response to the needs
of children and families.
* ensuring the service participates in case conferences and other
meetings in relation to the welfare of children and families.
* leading the delivery and promotion of the Meitheal intervention
practice model and co-ordination of the local Child and Family Support
Network
* undertaking the duties of Designated Person for the Project under
the Children First National Guidelines for the Protection and Welfare
of Children.
* meeting weekly with the school Principal and Home School Community
Liaison representative.
* ensuring that the service operates in a cohesive way within the
local community and participating in service development where
appropriate.
* representing MYP as appropriate at local / regional or national
level. This may involve media and advocacy work.

* GOVERNANCE ROLE:
* keeping the board of trustees informed of all matters concerning
funding, governance, staffing and risk to services.
* Ensure Charity Regulator reports are submitted as required.
* developing organisational policy and plans to ensure they are
implemented within the work of the project.
* providing financial oversight of the organisation including
monthly review and sign off of the accounts, bank reconcilliation and
credit card statements ensuring that tax returns are completed and
annual returns are submitted to the Companies Office on the designated
annual returns date. Ensuring that audit accounts are completed.
* ensuring that all financial returns and performanc metrics are
sent to funders.
* ensuring that all staff are in receipt of monthly salary and
pay-slips, together with P**Apply on the website** at the end of the
year.
* developing and facilitating a culture of service users
consultation and involvement in all aspects of the work.
SKILLS REQUIRED
* Ability to lead a diverse team of counsellors and therapists
* Ability to manage the admin and financial affairs of the charity
* Ability to prepare reports (e.g. to funders) in a timely manner
* Background in community care, social work. Preferably with a
professional qualification
